Jesus Youth

Starting in Kerala in the early 1980s, Jesus Youth is an international Catholic movement currently present in more than 30 countries all over the world. Its spirituality is based on the 'six pillars' of prayer, the word of God, sacraments, fellowship, evangelization, and option for the poor. Today, the movement has innumerable ministries around the world and has special missions in countries such as Haiti, Uganda, and in countries where the faith is explicitly not welcome.

Mar Joy Alappatt - Auxiliary Bishop

Holy Father Pope Francis appointed Rev. Fr. Joy Alappatt, Pastor of Mar Thoma Sleeha SyroMalabar Cathedral, Chicago as the Auxiliary Bishop of St. Thomas SyroMalabar Catholic Diocese of Chicago on July 24, 2014. The appointment was communicated by Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, Apostolic Nuncio to the United States on July 23, 2014. His titular see is Bencenna.

Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara

Kuriakose (Cyriac) Chavara was born in 1805, of pious and devout Catholic parents of Syro-Malabar Church, at Kainakary, Kerala, India. After his early schooling in the native village and priestly studies under Fr. Thomas Palackal at Pallippuram, he was ordained priest in 1829.
